A Passionate Team

They say experience, creativity, work ethic, and passion make up a great team. We are so thankful to have such a driven and passionate team that wants to make a difference in our community's kids and youth. Each member is certified with the appropriate training to give our community's children the best tools for success through Lion's Quest and Too Good For Drugs and Violence. Some of our team are also certified mental health, trauma, and life coaches as well as work with those overcoming life controlling problems.

Current Prevention Efforts

Too Good For Dugs & Violence

Too Good is a comprehensive family of evidence-based substance use and violence prevention intervention. It’s designed to mitigate the risk factors link to problem behaviors and build protection within the child to resist problem behaviors. Too Good programs are based in sound development and prevention theory. We use a strength-based approach that builds on strengths and wellness as part of a strategy to address risk behaviors to build protective factors. Too Good programs are interactive and hands-on, providing opportunities for skills building and skills application. We are currently implementing Too Good with 5th grade at DCES and 7th grade health class at Carroll Jr. High.

Lions Quest

Lions Quest is an evidence-based social and emotional learning program rooted in the belief that young people who are prepared to meet adulthood by developing their character and having high expectations for positive behavior can take meaningful roles in addressing the issues that affect their lives, their communities, and the world. Lions Quest is being implemented in 8th grade at Delphi Middle School.

CATCH My Breath

CATCH My Breath is a peer-led teaching approach that empowers students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about e-cigarettes and resist social pressures to vape.  Informed by tobacco youth prevention researchers and practitioners. It is the only school-based program widely used for vaping education in schools that is proven to reduce the likelihood of vaping among youth. CATCH is currently being implemented in 7th grade at Delphi Middle School.

Strengthening Families

Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is an evidence-based family skills training program for high-risk and general population families that is recognized both nationally and internationally. Parents and youth attend weekly SFP skills classes together, learning parenting skills and youth life and refusal skills. They have separate class training for parents and youth followed by a join practice section. SFP will begin to be implemented with substitute caregivers and their children very soon.
